Pick an image and get a JPG of 1 MB or less. Processing happens on your device, and iPhone HEIC photos work too.
How it works
- Choose a photo — JPG, PNG, WebP or iPhone HEIC.
- Adjust the crop frame if the target needs a fixed shape.
- The tool searches for the best quality that fits the size and pixel requirements.
- Download the result. Location and camera data (EXIF) are removed.
Didn’t fit? What to do
- Very large photos and panoramas may be scaled down in pixels to fit in 1 MB.
- Crop away what the form does not need before compressing.
- If the site also limits the pixel size, look for a page with that rule or resize first.
- Screenshots with text stay sharper if you crop to the part that matters.
Frequently asked questions
Is 1 MB 1,000 KB or 1,024 KB?
Sites differ. The tool targets 1,000,000 bytes: exactly 1 MB in decimal units and about 5% under 1 MiB (1,048,576 bytes), so the file passes whichever way the site counts.
Will my photo lose quality?
A little JPG compression is usually invisible at 1 MB. The tool keeps the quality as high as the size allows and lowers the pixel size only if quality alone is not enough.
Can I compress a PNG or HEIC photo to 1 MB?
Yes. Any image your browser can open, plus iPhone HEIC photos, comes out as a JPG of 1 MB or less.
