Pick a PDF and get a copy of 50 KB or less. A larger PDF is saved as images, so its text is no longer selectable; a smaller one keeps it.

How it works

  1. Choose a PDF document.
  2. Lossless mode re-saves the file without touching the content; guaranteed mode turns the pages of a file over the limit into images.
  3. The tool finds the highest resolution and quality that fit the limit.
  4. Download the smaller PDF.

Didn’t fit? What to do

  • At 50 KB, a single page is the realistic goal: remove every page the form does not ask for.
  • A black-and-white scan on plain white paper is far smaller than a color photo of the same page.
  • Crop phone photos of documents to the paper edge before making the PDF.
  • If the form also accepts JPG, a one-page document often looks sharper as an image of 50 KB.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the tool say my PDF cannot reach 50 KB?

The tool stops at its lowest resolution and quality, and a busy color scan can still be larger than 50 KB there. Send fewer pages, or scan in black and white, and try again.

Why can't I select text after compressing?

To fit in 50 KB, each page of a larger PDF is rendered as an image. The document looks the same but is no longer searchable. A PDF already under 50 KB keeps its text.

Is 50 KB 50,000 or 51,200 bytes?

Forms differ. The tool targets 50,000 bytes, which passes either way.
