How it works
- Choose a photo — JPG, PNG, WebP or iPhone HEIC.
- Adjust the crop frame if the target needs a fixed shape.
- The tool searches for the best quality that fits the size and pixel requirements.
- Download the result. Location and camera data (EXIF) are removed.
Didn’t fit? What to do
- Resize only, do not crop: cropping counts as altering the photo. Use the digital file from your photographer.
- Check pixels, not only MB: the photo must be between 715×1000 and 2000×2800 pixels, so a large camera file needs resizing.
- Save as .jpeg or .jpg.
- Only have a paper photo? Scan it with a scanner or scanner app; a photo of the print taken with a camera is not accepted.
Frequently asked questions
What is the PR card photo size for online applications?
Between 715×1000 and 2000×2800 pixels, 4 MB or less, in .jpeg or .jpg format.
Can I take the photo myself?
No. IRCC asks you to go to a commercial photographer or studio. If you got a digital copy, upload a confirmation from the studio, such as a receipt, with it.
Why is my photo rejected though it is under 4 MB?
The pixel size is checked too. Photos above 2000×2800 or below 715×1000 pixels fail.
